Throughout the year I volunteer to photograph numerous charity pet events. The Fur Ball is very large and fantastic event that the wonderful people at the Humane Society Silicon Valley produce each year. Its an amazing amount of work and so many people volunteering to help.
While I’m not a studio photographer as my pet photography photo sessions are usually done at a park, I have acquired studio experience from my Dog Ice Cream Social, my Pet Christmas photos , the Pet Expo and other events, where I setup a portable studio at a pet business.
This year I was asked to photograph the generous people attending as “Best in Show”. It was a special entrance with champagne, appetizers and Me!
While there was a good amount of working space, I decided to not attempt to photograph full body. That would require a much wider angle to get people and dogs included. Everyone would be too small in the photo. For much more beautiful results, I went with landscape orientation and added a table for dogs. Big dogs on table and little dogs held.
Below are a few of the dogs with their people that I wanted to share from this event.
This first photo of a family with their Burnese Mountain Dog was my favorite of the night. A big dog that didn’t want to get up on the table, but happy to stand with the rest of the family. Loved all their expressions.
